Setting up a DNS Connection manually

Setting up a Direct Delivery connection allows you to send bulk mail if it is otherwise disallowed.

Step 1: Choose Tools|Options from the menu bar

Step 2: Go to the second tab named 'Connections'

Step 3: Click on the second radiobutton to mark 'Direct Delivery'

Step 4: The DNS Port should typically be set to 53

Step 5: You needn't complete the DNS field, only the DNS IP is required. To find out what the DNS IP should be:

Right-click on 'My Network Places' on your windows desktop and choose 'Properties'.
Right-click on 'Local Area Connection' and choose 'Properties'.
Click on Internet Protocol and choose 'Properties'.
The value displayed in the 'Preferred DNS Server' field is the DNS IP you should use.

If the DNS IP is not displayed there, you can find out what it should be from your Systems Administrator or your Internet Service Provider.

Step 6: Complete the DNS IP field and click 'Save'.
